Your FIRE number is €750,000 — 25.0× your yearly expenses.
FIRE stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early: saving and investing so much that your investments can cover your living costs, so working becomes optional.
Your FIRE number is your yearly expenses divided by a safe withdrawal rate. With the popular 4% rule, that's 25× your yearly expenses.
It comes from historical studies suggesting that withdrawing about 4% of a diversified portfolio in the first year (then adjusting for inflation) has lasted for at least 30 years in most past scenarios. It's a rule of thumb, not a guarantee.
Use a real return (after inflation), for example 4–5% for a stock-heavy portfolio, so the FIRE number stays in today's money.
