Web pages are usually described as three separate layers working together: HTML for structure and content, CSS for visual styling (colors, layout, fonts), and JavaScript for behavior and interactivity. This track covers only the first one.
A useful comparison: HTML is like a building's frame and rooms — where the walls are, what each room is for. CSS is the paint, furniture, and lighting. JavaScript is the plumbing and electrical systems that make things actually respond and function. You can have a frame with no paint, but you can't paint a building that doesn't exist yet.
This is exactly why HTML comes first. Every other web skill — styling with CSS, adding interactivity with JavaScript (already a track in this app) — assumes there's already a page structure to style or manipulate. Solid HTML is the foundation everything else in web development sits on.
