The stories that go viral are never the boring, typical ones. Keep that in mind for this whole track. 📢

Alternative assets, especially cryptocurrency, attract enormous attention because of dramatic stories: someone who bought early and became wealthy, a rare collectible that sold for a fortune, a commodity that spiked overnight. These stories spread because they're exciting, not because they're typical.

This creates a real bias in what you hear about: the rare, spectacular winners get talked about constantly, while the far more common losses, stagnation, or projects that simply disappeared get almost no attention at all. Level 9 of this track covers this exact pattern — survivorship bias — in much more depth.

Fill in the blank

The tendency to only hear about the rare, spectacular winners — not the common losses — is related to a pattern called survivorship ____.

🤖
None of this means alternative assets are worthless — it just means the loud stories deserve real skepticism. 🧠

None of this means alternative assets have no value or place in a thoughtful financial plan — Levels 5 through 7 explore commodities, collectibles, and reasonable position sizing in real depth. It just means the loudest, most exciting stories are the least representative ones, and deserve real skepticism rather than automatic belief.
