Getting the Basics Right · Lesson 3 of 9

The Shape of This Track

A free lesson from Swipe Personal Growth · Focus & Productivity, level 1 · updated October 2026

By the Swipe team, founded by Colin · how we make lessons

With the real cause established, here's the roadmap. Level 2 covers time-blocking — deciding exactly when something happens, in writing, instead of just hoping it happens sometime. Level 3 covers the 2-minute starting trick, and directly connects to this app's Habits & Routines track: the same "start absurdly small" idea that track uses for building habits works just as well for breaking a procrastination freeze.

Levels 4 and 5 tackle two of the biggest triggers directly: Level 4 covers breaking an overwhelming, vague task into pieces small enough to actually start, and Level 5 covers removing distraction at the source, since making it physically harder to get distracted beats relying on willpower to resist it.

L2-L3: Getting started -> time-blocking, the 2-minute trick
L4-L5: The big triggers -> breaking down overwhelm, removing distraction
L6-L7: Real focus -> single-tasking, deep work vs. shallow work
L8-L9: Playing the long game -> energy management, recovering from a spiral
L10: Capstone -> tied together, bridges back to Habits & Routines
The full arc of this track, level by level.

The back half goes deeper into real, sustained focus: single-tasking, the real difference between deep and shallow work, managing your actual energy instead of just your calendar, and — honestly — how to recover fast from a procrastination spiral instead of spiraling further into guilt about it. Level 10 ties the whole track together.
